The Walker County Animal Shelter will hold a second pet vaccination clinic on April 30

The Walker County Animal Shelter will be hosting an additional free pet vaccination clinic on Saturday, April 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

To encourage pet parents to keep their pets up to date on vaccinations, Petco Love has provided free pet vaccines to Walker County Animal Shelter for pets in need. The vaccines distributed at the clinic on April 30 will be DAPPv Canine and HCP Feline vaccines to help combat parvovirus, distemper and panleukopenia.

The shelter held a similar event earlier this month, in which 150 dogs and 50 cats received vaccinations and 77 animals were microchipped. “We had so much success at our first clinic that we decided to hold a second one,” said Emily Sadler, director of the shelter. “We hope providing an additional date will reach those who missed the first clinic and give everyone who brought their pups the opportunity to get a second round of DAPPv.”

The microchip will also be available during the clinic for $10. “Your pet’s microchip not only provides proof of ownership, it’s also the quickest way to get your pet home if lost,” Ms Sadler said.

The Pet Care Clinic is for pets and is open to residents and non-residents of Walker County. Walker County Animal Shelter is located at 5488 North Marble Top Road in Chickamauga.
