Paddleboard Adventure Company Hosts Fundraiser for Animal Sanctuary

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) – If you have a dog that needs a bath, you’re in luck. This weekend Paddleboard Adventure Company is providing this service for a small fee which will benefit Harmony Animal Matchmaker and Sanctuary.

“So you can bring your dog, and for $5 we’ll wash them, and all of that money will go to the sanctuary,” store manager Caleb Ferganchick said.

Danielle Dyer, director of Harmony Animal Shelter, says donations are key to providing the best care for animals in need.

“So the donations cover all animal care,” Dyer added.

This includes facility, staff, vaccines and the list goes on. Dyer says they are seeing an increase in donations.

“We’re seeing a steady increase, which is really, really exciting,” Dyer describes. “Because with more donations we are able to spread the word and adopt more animals and give them a happier place while they are in the rescue.”

According to the Humane Society of the United States, at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, several shelters across the country saw their donations dwindle.

Dyer adds that they are so grateful for the love they receive from the community that will allow them to continue saving animals.

“We feel so lucky to be able to do this job,” Dyer explained. “Saving animals is a lot of work, but it’s very rewarding. Each animal we save gives way to another. So with the donations it allows us to feel the love of more and more people coming together so we can save more animals.

The Paddleboard Adventure Company will be hosting another wash down on Sunday from 12-5pm.
